Process

I decided to look into ways that I use skateboard decks to become functional pieces of furniture. My goal was to change as little about the skate deck as possible, so that anybody could take their old skate decks and easily make them into a shelving unit

Result

I decided to go with the 8 pole design because of the way it clearly spoke to the standardized design of the skate deck. The poles are tensioned using threaded rod that run through the 8 truck holes with an outer steel tube and nuts on the end.
